AMHA, AMHR Miniature Horses

Activities that are just for fun!

Ridding in the Element We sold the ford LTD and now have an Element. Best horse car ever! Love to see people see your horse in the car.

How about camping?

We would take the horse trailer and one 16 foot panel that we could hook to wither side of the back door and the horses would have barn and turn out. We of course took wagons and went to the camp grounds. One year we found out that Sarg loved water and I got him stopped with him, the cart and myself halfway out into the lake. What a surprise!

We spend several weekends every summer taking the horses to a living museum and talking to people, doing demos and teaching about the miniature horse. We have meet people from around the world and made many new friends.

Here is our version of working. One winter we could not get the truck to the hay barn so Blue and Bill had to haul it all up. At one point Bill sat down on the hay and Blue dumbed him. This was suppose to be work not play!

Taking Your Horse Out in Public

Make sure you take horse that can handle the pressure and are good with people.

You horse will be surrounded and a nervous horse will spin and hit toes.

If your horse has been hand fed, they will bite.

Try and keep everyone on one side of the horse. The side you are on. Always give them a way out.

When they start showing signs of being tired. Go home! I don't care if you agreed to be there for another hour.
